My “Why”
I should start by saying I have built my website and courses for everyone! My knowledge and techniques can be used at tools to tap different parts of yourself through a yoga posture –
I have built this platform because I LOVE teaching and want to reach out to a bigger audience intending to empower and connect –
My philosophy all goes back to 3 big things:
- Loving yourself
- Being your true authentic self
- And finally – Living your fullest power in life
I’m hoping this platform will connect more and more of us to love ,learn and grow.
Over the next year I’ll be doing different videos/ talks/ meditations /sound healing to add to our library for us to enjoy and build a practice-
All in all, I want to add value to your life with my offerings, as well as a space to connect and feel wanted
Feel free to send me an email with any questions or inquiries and also head on over to the”book me” tab and let’s start working together, whether it be virtual or in person.
The Journey
I began my yoga journey in 2015 at the age of 30. After tweaking something in my neck I was in immense pain and the chiropractor I went to recommended yoga.
In the beginning I started going to gyms to take yoga classes, after feeling the benefits of yoga here (physical relief, a sense of connection to something deeper, the feeling of loving something new again) I said to myself “if you like this gym yoga, you would probably really love an actual yoga studio.”
After a Sunday brunch shift at the restaurant I worked at, a couple of my co workers took me to a yoga studio, I was very grateful as once again I was trying something/scary/exciting among other feelings.
I wasn’t aware at the time, but the teacher was a student of Sri Dharma Mittra who was one of the oldest living yogis still teaching in Manhattan today.
What I was aware of was that I LOVED the EXPERIENCE. The vibe of the studio, the ease and peace along with it and the challenge of the postures.
After just 2 months of taking classes at least 5/6 times a week, I enrolled in Yoga Teacher Training to learn how to teach. It was the summer of 2015 and as serendipitous as it was I received my 200 hour certificate of completion on my birthday 1/31/2016.
A week before I attended my first yoga retreat in San Deigo with my first teacher Charry Morris and her teacher Andre Ram. I learned things way over my head but was really gaining momentum that this was what I really wanted to accomplish was to teach yoga all over Dallas.
“I began to pivot and from 2017-2019 I started carving out a 300 hour cert by taking 25/50 hour trainings when I could. By this time I was teaching at almost every studio around Dallas”
Andre I found out was also a student of Sri Dharma, my next step was to go to NYC [My home town] to study and explore his yoga center.
I loved this practice and began to follow Dharma to different workshops held in New York and Cleveland. One trip to NYC a friend came along and during a break one day he took me just around the corner to a studio called ‘Laughing Lotus.”
AS much as I loved the serious but slightly playful Dharma yoga practice, I couldn’t really see myself being a full dharma teacher. Laughing Lotus was very similar in structure to how Dallas studios propose classes, but the teachers were the best in every way. The knowledge and playfulness the challenging sequences and the best part to me, how they would weave yoga themes or intentions with the story of the Deity we were focused on.
I began to pivot and from 2017-2019 I started carving out a 300 hour cert by taking 25/50 hour trainings when I could. By this time I was teaching at almost every studio around Dallas including Corepower, Black Swan, V12, The Refuge, Breathe, Uptown yoga, Trufusion, among others- honing in on my way of guiding and leading classes, I was living my goals, but there wasn’t much money starting out. I started to trust my path more leaving the restaurant in 2017 to teach yoga full time.
Gaining 225 hours in this time in all different modules, the studio unfortunately closed during covid in which I didn’t make it to 300. In 2019 I also completed my 200 meditation training, during this time I discovered sound and my reconnection to playing instruments in class.
During covid I would teach online classes and meditations, once again using the space to focus on what made me a teacher and the elements I could use to create different class experiences.
At the moment, I’m completing my 300 hour YTT online with my teacher Matt Giordano It has been a wonderful experience and I cannot wait to share with you all of my gifts through my content.
I have now started to be more into the business side, Branding Myself, creating sound trainings , holding workshops on anything from arm balances to yoga nidra to restorative and deep stretch practices etc.
As much as I love teaching I will be a forever student continuing to learn- refining and redefining my craft.
As of right now you can find me at Uptown Yoga and Lifetime Club in Garland and Mckinney.
I still consider this the very beginning of learning , teaching and building this yoga empire together with YOU.
